Celebrating Mother’s Day in Quarantine

(top left to right)  Grandma and Me; Mom and me; (bottom left to right) My Bunny & Me; Mom-In-Law and Me As we are all getting used to the “new normal”, staying home shouldn’t really stop us from showing our love and gratitude for the people we love. With each new day, calendar forwards without a change and occasions come on the defined time – unaware of the fact that we are under lockdown due to COVID-19. With the occasions falling on a calendar day, the only difference I find is that everything is home-bound instead of a fun-filled evening watching the most awaited blockbuster at Cineplex followed by dinner at your favorite restaurant or traveling to the nearby destination and spending a night at the lake-side hotel! But this shouldn’t stop the fun or stop you from celebrating and acknowledging the special days – Birthday, Anniversary, Festivals, and appreciation days such as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day! Since 2020 is a special year, Mother’s Day celebration ...

Baby Registry

I cannot tell you how happy I feel about writing this post. It was only after I got married, that I formally knew about the term “Registry”. I had never known such a wonderful practice was in place to make things easier for the host and even for the guests. So instead of spending money on buying gifts, thinking if the host would like or not, better pick the gift from their registry and it is a happy ending! So those of you who do not know, Registry is a wish list of items you as a host (parents-to-be) can create and share with your friends and family who are looking to buy gifts for your Baby Shower or even after baby is born. Now-a-days you can create your Registry either online or in-store. I had looked up at the most known stores like Toys R Us, Walmart, Buy Buy Baby and Pottery Barn.  Well, I ended up creating my registry with Amazon. It offered me a welcome gift, free home delivery, and gift-wrapping options as well as return policy as per their stand terms and condition...

Baby Shower Guest Activities

A baby shower is your event at the same time you want to involve your guests in the celebration. At my shower, I had lots of activities planned for my guests to be involved into through the event. We played games, made speeches, took pictures, cut the cake and had lunch together. To know which games we played at the shower, ready my blog - Baby Shower Games . In addition to the shower games, there were a lot of other activities to keep our guests busy and collect memories for our little arrival.  1. Onesie and Diaper Messages I had put out a plain white onesie from my baby’s first shopping for the guests to write their messages or wishes on it. I pinned it on a hardboard and left a few markers for the guests. I planned to frame it and hang it in the nursery. To make it little funny, I put out a bunch of diapers for guests to write silly messages on them! What you need? Hardboard to pin the onesie  Onesie Diapers Few permanent markers 2. Filling the...

Babyshower Decorations

If you are reading this blog, I am sure you are planning your baby shower. Well, it is very much of a fun event where you can play around with your creativity in putting up the shower. This blog will talk about choosing your theme and decors to make your shower elegant and enjoyable. Your decors depend a lot on the venue you choose. If you are hosting your shower at home, you need to plan the seating arrangement and activities as well as decors that can be feasible in a home setting. If you are planning it in a public space like a restaurant, banquet or park you will have to prepare your activities accordingly. My shower was hosted at a banquet and so I had a lot of space to play with; for example, the stage decor, my chair, entrance decorations, photo booth and additional open space which I could use for activities.  Another factor around which your decorations usually revolve are your theme choice. While I was planning my shower, I had a lot of themes in mind but wanted to...

DIY Baby Shower Photo Booth

I love photo booths. Every time I go to an event, the first thing I look for is the photo booth. I love creating, collecting and saving memories and what could be better than getting the pictures. In this digital era, the traditional photos have almost lost, but still, photos hold a lot of value.  While I was planning my shower, my husband and I picked two themes to build our photo booth - Safari and Baby! This sound two totally different ideas but it all comes together really well. So here is how my photo booth came together: 1.     I picked up a 5-piece safari backdrop from  Party City  to cover the wall. I picked up the baby version so it had baby animal pictures on them. 2.     I had made a few purchases for the new arrival before my shower. I wanted to display those and use them in some way. So, I used a long robe and with cloth pins hung my munchkin’s little onesies, socks and pants. It looked perfect! 3.   ...

Baby Shower Games

Are you ready to have some fun with your guests at the Baby shower? It is very common these days for all of us to search on Pinterest or Instagram for ideas ranging from dresses to decors to games and party themes. Baby shower games are particularly exciting as all the adults get to be kids and play. When we planned our shower, I wanted to do games much differently. I was tired of playing diaper the baby doll, taste the baby food, eat or feed the cereals blindfolded or don't say the word "Baby". So I came up with some not-so-common or never-played before games. At our shower we had kids and adults and so I wanted to include games for all of them. So here is your guide to new games for your Shower or any other event. Games for Kids (2 to 6 years) 1)    Hopping Bunny This is a fun game for little guests allowing them to hop and hunt for treats. What you need: ·           A long rope ·      ...
